Prague, I'm Coming !!

As I said in my last post that I got a chance to do student exchange program in Czech Republic! Woohooo ! But, (there's always been a 'but' anyway) it surely didn't just stop there. I had another tasks following my exchange application. There are some documents requirements I had to submit. I took up the torch anyway.

First of all is Passport. Yap, this was my first time going abroad so I hadn't got any passport yet at the moment. So, I went to my hometown, Sidoarjo, to submit my passport application. The office was so packed like sardines and I didn't know anything about how to make it. I came at about 9 o'clock in the morning and I took the form. The form was a bit confusing as well so it took me more time to fill it. Thirty minutes later, I finished it all and headed to the officer at the locket.
As I gave my map to him, he said "Sorry, miss. But we can't receive any passport applicants. The quota is already full."

Holy crap. It was completely a dead duck. I couldn't hide my disappointment and walked away gloomily to home.
I came back a week later and arrived at the Immigration Office at 6 o'clock. I surprised there was already a short queue in front of the gate. When the gate was opened at about 6.30, we all rushed and submitted the map. Luckily, I had searched and read about passport application at Indonesian Official Immigration Site. I strongly recommended you who are going to apply for a new passport, you should register ONLINE first. It make you easier and besides, the queue for the online registration is way shorter than the regular registration.
So, I succeeded submit my Passport application and in about 4 hours later I was called for the Interview. In the end, I was told to take my Passport a week later. Hooray !

Other documents requirements are Proof of TB and Hepatitis B vaccination. These ones weren't like a piece of cake too. According to my friends' advice, I went to Hospital, saw a General Practitioner (GP), and consulted whether I was able to get the document in English. Most of the hospitals don't have it I think, so I prepared my own document in English and I gave it to the doctor. He agreed to sign after I got vaccinated. And yes, the Second mission accomplished!

After I completed all the documents, I scanned and sent it through to IFMSA. Then I was told to wait for an acceptation email or card of acceptance (CA) from the Czech Local Exchange Officer (LEO). My first choice for the exchange city was Prague, the second was also Prague, and the last one was Brno.
My friend, who was former LEO, said it was like pig mights fly to get the first choice.. Hmm, maybe it was true but who knows anyway.

Finally, on one sunny day, weeks later, I got that magic email ! Violaa... I was soo glad reading it. All my documents-requirements-effort was finally paid off. And the top of all, I was placed in Prague! Thanks God :D

My CA finally in my hands !

to be continued....
