An Interview that Brought Me to Europe

I could feel my own heartbeats right after I opened my eyes that morning. I had to face this day, this big day. I said to myself. An interview regarding the selection of scholarship given by HPEQ DIKTI in order to encouraging medical education quality through student exchange program which is held by IFMSA. There were many exchange program destination countries offered, and I'd made my choice. It was Czech Republic. Why? Simple, because it's located in Europe. The dreamland. My dreamland..



Actually, I've never imagined being in this position. Waiting for my turn to be interviewed by the 3 well-known doctors as the judges. But I don't know why, I was so sure I'd get it..

And when my name was called, I felt like my each step was so light. Allah helped me so much at the moment. Good morning, I said.. A minute later, here comes the questions ...

"Tell me about yourself..."
"Why did you choose Emergency medicine ?"
"What do you know about Emergency Medicine ?"
"Mention the branches of Emergency Medicine?"
"Do you know the Chief of Emergency Department in Syaiful Anwar Hospital ?"
"What would you do if you get this scholarship?"
"What would you do when you come back after you finish your exchange period?"
and so on..

Okay, this is easy. My mind said. And I don't know exactly but then I found myself answering the questions and keep talking until I'd been told to stop. Is it true when people say, 'sometimes you don't know what you capable of ' . Just like me, I have no idea about my english speaking skill until I used it at the interview.Yeah.. it's not that bad , you know..

Minutes later, I walked away the interview room with a smile.  Okay.. At least I did it.

Day by day passed..
I was just hoping and praying. I knew I can't do anything else excpet praying and begging to Allah..

Until one morning,
'hey congrats, you made it. you'll go to czech, girl' whispered one of my friend.

I was just like... I didn't breath for a second, ok, maybe 3 seconds..
Alhamdulillah.. alhamdulillah..

"Czech, Europe, I'm coming!! Finally!!!! YEAHHH!!!!" My mind yelled so loud.
