Prague, I'm Coming !!! (Part 2)

So, the story goes...
After I got the passport and CA the next thing to do was apply for visa. For this occasion, I used a Schengen Visa. It's a visa which you can use for European Union countries, known as Schengen Area, which currently consisting of 26 countries. Pay attention for the EU countries you're gonna travel to, it might not listed as Schengen Area, such as UK and Romania, and you will be surely in trouble when you don't have a proper visa. (don't laugh, my friend had been arrested by the immigration officer in Romania because of this)

Prague, I'm Coming !!

As I said in my last post that I got a chance to do student exchange program in Czech Republic! Woohooo ! But, (there's always been a 'but' anyway) it surely didn't just stop there. I had another tasks following my exchange application. There are some documents requirements I had to submit. I took up the torch anyway.

First of all is Passport. Yap, this was my first time going abroad so I hadn't got any passport yet at the moment. So, I went to my hometown, Sidoarjo, to submit my passport application. The office was so packed like sardines and I didn't know anything about how to make it. I came at about 9 o'clock in the morning and I took the form. The form was a bit confusing as well so it took me more time to fill it. Thirty minutes later, I finished it all and headed to the officer at the locket.
As I gave my map to him, he said "Sorry, miss. But we can't receive any passport applicants. The quota is already full."

Bonjour! Let's Learn French Together!

I am currently addicted to learn new languages after I traveled around Europe. It's just amazing to see how natives speak their languages with their original accents. It's also just annoying that you can't understand them as well. Besides, I've met some friends, they're just like me, ordinary medical students, but what distinct us is they speak more than 2 languages. Mariusz is one of them. This Polish guy is able to speak Polish, Czech, German, Russian, and English. Although he isn't too good at speaking those languages, but at least he understand some words and can communicate a lil bit. That piece of 'lil bit' has amazed me enough, indeed.

The languages I wanna learn a lil bit are Czech, German, and absolutely French. Czech, is because I've been there for a month so I knew some of the words and also its culture. German, is because I already learned it at high school and as I left the school I definitely didn't make any contact with it so it just gone. Moreover, few countries in Europe speak German, for example in Austria and Switzerland. I found it useful to be spoken especially for those who live in Europe.

An Interview that Brought Me to Europe

I could feel my own heartbeats right after I opened my eyes that morning. I had to face this day, this big day. I said to myself. An interview regarding the selection of scholarship given by HPEQ DIKTI in order to encouraging medical education quality through student exchange program which is held by IFMSA. There were many exchange program destination countries offered, and I'd made my choice. It was Czech Republic. Why? Simple, because it's located in Europe. The dreamland. My dreamland..

Prague, I'm so fucked up missing you..

I fell in love with Prague.
I stepped on it as a foreigner but it welcomed me nicely.
My first impression of its people wasn't good.
I was grim and gloomy
got pissed off easily
But time goes by..
And opened my eyes
new friends made
totally different  cultures
large amount of time spent together
questions, laugh, glance, thoughts,
diversity, tolerance,
friendship and love.

Guillain Barre Syndrome, is a rare yet severe disease that commonly affect the peripheral nervous system. It is a group of autoimmune syndromes consisting of demyelinating and acute axonal degenerating forms of the disease (Newswanger, 2004). It means that Antibody can't barely differ the Antigen, which is supposed to be attacked, and our normal body cells. Therefore, Antibodies attack our cells, in GBS is in peripheral nervous system, and cause damages to the nerves itself. This is often happened after an acute infection.

Damaged myelin (nervous system) caused by autoimmune mechanism.

Gradually the patient will lose his reflexes and leading to complete body paralysis. Paralysis in lower limb and legs are commonly called rubbery legs or tingling and numbness in legs. Afterwards this syndrome travels in upper part of the limb (http://www.guillainbarresyndrome.net/).

Happy New Year, folks !

whoa ! hello again !
this is officially my first post in this watery-dragon year, 2012. Happy New Year, once again !

so, how did you guys spend the new year eve yesterday ? going to one of the shopping centre in the city ? have a BBQ party in friend's house ? or just stuck in your home just like me ?
yeah, this New Year Eve I spent at home, watching tv, and doing some chit chat. Seems like it was really bad, and it was. HA HA
but, nevermind.

New Year is supposed to be filled with new hopes, new spirit, and everything's new, that's bullshit. Those are the bullshit made by hopeless people. Seems like all the time you got before it, you didn't have that new spirits etc. Come on dude, we are already have new spirits, new hopes and new resolution, and it is happened EVERYDAY. You don't have to wait the New Year Eve to wish something to God, do you ?

One a-must-thing in New Year Eve is fireworks. Tons of fireworks in all over the world were bombed to the sky. Millions of people were willing to wait for hours just to see the fireworks. And in the end, it would be the most beautiful 10-minute-sky for a whole year. I myself, am also into it. I mean, who's not ? Fireworks do have some magical persuasive capability to make the lips stretched into a smile :)
And the fireworks shows in many countries are so damn amazing! tho i watched on tv and I'm totally flabbergasted by it. Whoaaaaa... Wish I can have that kind of New Year Eve party there :)

Yet, this January is just the beginning, friends. Be aware ana be prepared ! We're gonna face this unpredictable journey soon ! yeah ! \m/
